The Piedmont area that we know here in Sherwood Content district was owned by the William Flash, who was a Waldensian.
The Jamaica Almanac of 1840 lists William Flash as owning 36 acres
The map (courtesy of the National Library of Jamaica) shows how the Piedmont area was subdivided in what I presume was the early post-emancipation period.
Descendants of the Flash family (including the headmistress of the school) still live in the area.
