Oxford in Trelawny, Jamaica originally belonged to George
Barrett (note: neighbouring Cambridge
belonged to his brother Edward). By 1840 the Jamaica Almanac
reports that consisted of 2881 acres and both Oxford and Cambridge
now belonged to Edward B. M. Barrett.
Oxford Estate presently belongs to Long Pond Estates Ltd and the
Great House (until then in good condition) was allowed to burn down
recently (1997?) as one of the workers was cooking on a wood fire
indoors.
